When our friends from Lane Venture outdoor furniture called to inquire about Chicago locations for a photo shoot, we had a flashbulb moment: the Museum Campus terrace of a good client of ours! A few phone calls ensued, permission granted, and off we went. The folks from Lane Venture showed up on a gorgeous summer's day with their beautiful furniture, styled the terrace, and the shoot began!
Our clients' vast terrace lies directly across Lake Shore Drive from Soldier Field, and views to downtown and the lake are magnificent. We had built out a shade pergola, water feature, decking and a wide variety of plantings to enclose and soften the space, but the site's large and open nature was more than enough space to work in. The Lane Venture furnishings fit in perfectly. Their wide catalogue of chairs and tables, lounges, banquettes and other outdoor components were well suited to the sunny, breezy lakeshore environment, and the terrific architectural surroundings provided a one-of-a-kind backdrop.
At day's end we'd both benefitted from the Lane Venture catalog and our clients' superb setting. A win-win, indeed!
