Plantings bring softness, movement, color and seasonal change to the urban garden.

Every garden presents its own horticultural opportunities and challenges. Sun and shade, wind exposure, irrigation, container size and Chicago’s changing seasons all influence the plants we select.

We develop planting palettes that respond to those conditions while supporting the larger design intent. Trees and shrubs can provide screening and structure; grasses and perennials introduce texture and movement; annuals and tropicals bring bold seasonal color. From restrained compositions to exuberant displays, our goal is a planting scheme that feels appropriate to its setting—and gets better as the garden matures.
